The Armour opened to the public last night. The concept is very cool and also a bit confusing, so check out Carly’s experience and explanation. The press night is on Friday and then we can expect more pictures and previews. You can get your tickets here. Also check out Hannah’s fabulous hair:
The show is played at The Langham hotel and it has three separate acts marking 150 years of the hotel’s existence. Each act is set in a different part of the hotel, so there is a bit of a guided tour imvolved. There are three starting times over the evening, at 19:00, 19:30 and 20:00. Hannah’s in the first act, which is set in the present day. She plays a pop diva called Poppy, and sings and plays the piano during her show. The setting is very intimate and everybody is very close to the actors.
2015 – An international pop-star with ‘more Twitter followers than the population of Venezuela’ is on a comeback tour after a period of self-destruction and self-doubt. Poppy confronts her manager Franky who is trying to boost her flagging confidence and get her onstage to play the gig of her life.
1973 – The second story takes place when the Langham was occupied by the BBC, being used as recording studios, storage and the BBC Club. Peter and Eloise are a successful couple waiting to be interviewed for a current affairs programme about their growing international shipping empire.
1871 – With the hotel newly built and electrical lighting yet to be installed, Emperor Napoleon III and his wife Eugenie seek refuge at the Langham whilst in exile from France.
